Watching You by Lisa Jewell
4.0

Really enjoyed the way some of the characters in this book were written - particularly how the different characters relate to the act of seeing or the experience of being seen.

The titular reference toward voyeurism is also certainly an apt choice, considering the constant watching and seeing of the various characters - the focus on pictures and windows and eating disorders and haircuts and style.

Other things the book described well:
- the feeling and actions of best friend breakups
- the spiraling of a person needing control who’s control is slipping
- the actions of people trying to be grown-ups and the way that inevitably fails
- how it feels to live in someone else’s house
- awkward, cautious flirting
- the many ways people respond to relationships they no longer want to be in
- the importance of labels sometimes
- how much people unravel without some kind of human connection

Generally quite good!
