I must admit that I have never been much of a sci-fi reader. I was never particularly good at these subjects in school, which sometimes led to me not "realizing" whichscience elements were fiction and which were not. In other words, the story was very well thought out, and the science elements were so well integrated that they were seamlessly woven together - at least for me. Not only did the science elements have a good setup, but the structure of the present and past was also very well executed, and the transitions were easy to follow.

The writing style that Weir employs has many humorous elements, which made the book feel light-hearted despite the complex subjects. Especially the moments when the fourth wall was broken were very entertaining.

The ending led to a beautiful full circle moment, which made the story cohesive and a wonderful whole, with a nod to the beginning.

The book remained thrilling until the very last page, and if you haven't picked it up yet, what are you waiting for?!
