I love this series, and I don't see that changing in the future. No matter if the story is the worst one I've ever read, I have a strong relationship with it and will always have a very special place in my heart. Although, that doesn't mean I can't see its flaws.

One thing that disappointed me was how anti-climatic the ending was. In the first book, the ending can be surprising, especially if you jump into reading it without any prior knowledge. But this time, everything I thought would give a twist in the story or create a big problem was easily resolved. And it gave me the feeling that I was reading in the younger spectrum of the YA age group. Everything works out just fine. You don't need to worry about the characters because they are all fine, no one is going to die, all the fights are easily resolved from one chapter to another, and everyone wants peace. Well... I want blood!

The pacing of the story was something I thought would change as the story progressed. The first book is about getting to know the characters, their past, their surroundings, and setting the story for the next book. When I started reading Day 21 I thought it would be more accelerated, more dangerous, more problems, more hard choices, instead, the pacing remains the same. It didn't matter (much) because I still devoured this book, but it gave me the sensation that barely anything happened.

The characters relationships are still the primary focus of this story and where most of the drama comes from. And it doesn't bother me that so much attention is given to them, I adore all these characters, and I want to watch them grow. But if there aren't big challenges, problems, and hard choices, they never will.

One thing that I realised the moment I read chapter one was how forgettable these books are. Not only I forgot information from the middle of the book, but I also forgot about things that happened in the end. I started reading and the character is recapping the last things that happened and my mind was blank. I wanted to think back on something specific, and I couldn't. Multiple times I thought about stop reading and pick up the first book again. I had an amazing ride when I reading The 100 and now with Day 21, but since the story is so soft and mild most of it doesn't stick into my brain.
