This is the second book of the reverse harem paranormal romance trilogy, Blood & Ruin. Tropes include second chance romance, reverse harem, a missing mate, fated mates, touch her and die and found family. See content warnings for spice and violence.
The Lovely: I loved the characters and their relationships, especially how the FMC’s relationship with each of the alphas was different. Each alpha helped her and met her needs in a different way. While there was some angst in the first half, I would say the second half was more about comfort and healing.
The Mundane: I didn’t love the underlying plot of book two nearly as much as book one and I felt like the tension just wasn’t there for most of the book. If anything, the first half was more hectic or frenzied than tense.
Rating: 3.5/5 Stars 3/5 Spicy flames
Recommendation: This series became a mood read for me this month (sorry TBR) and continues to be the easy to read break from epic fantasy. The “dream” sequences were some of my favorites, as were those where the alphas tried to comfort and care for the FMC. On to the third and final book!
