This book opened up my sense of God by bringing me back to encountering rather than seeking more or what I wanted to have. It is a very hard, slow read and I did not feel I understood half of what I read. But the title says it all. I'll probably read it again in a year or so and see how it feels then.
I almost stopped reading at the beginning of Buber's text, because I was not understanding. But the translator's long section had prepared me for that and I just kept reading and getting what I could. I would recommend the reader take what they can. I believe it will be enough. I think that is what Buber intended. I sense he smiles at this.
