Took me a while to realize what a Mary Sue the protagonist was. Annoyed how much physical violence (sorry, "training") there was between the main character and love interest, and how the author locked Odessa away in her rooms like a little doll for days at a time whenever she didn't know what to do with the character. Fortunately, our incredibly clumsy heroine was able to become well- trained enough in those physical abuse sparring sessions that happened sporadically over the course of three months to defend herself adequately using a sword against someone who had been using a sword since childhood. Would that life were all that easy. Just have a special hair color and low self-confidence and you'll be amazing at anything you try.
I appreciated that the author didn't answer any of the questions she set up in the book, but not enough to read any further.
