Eh, fairly low stakes fantasy, which I usually love. Not sure if it was the characters not grabbing my interest, the setting of a law office or something else. It just didn't keep me interested and I found that after about 1/2 way through it was a struggle to continue.
I just didn't connect with the characters. Also I felt like there was a lot of info I was missing about the world and how it all works (especially mating bonds and marks and how dragonkin really differ from shifters). Felt like there should have been a book before this one that helped to explain everything.
