Sitting Still Like a Frog: Mindfulness Exercises for Kids (and Their Parents) [With CD (Audio)] by Eline Snel

3.0

This is a very well-intentioned book that didn't quite land. I'm not sure if it was a translation issue or its age (it wasn't written that long ago but somehow feels a bit dated) - or the increase in mindfulness in culture since it came out. Most of the things in here certainly are good ideas, but they don't feel new or too insightful - but maybe they will be for some. Maybe it's also that it tries to speak to both children and parents. My favorite part was discussing feelings as weather for everyone - I can see how it is a clear visualization for kids & a good reminder for everyone that feelings, like weather, are usually transient.
cw for anti-fat sentiments!
