I actually read this book for the first time years ago when I was very young. When I saw this in a used book store I remembered liking it so I picked it up and thought I'd have a go re-reading it.
While the writing style is not quite my cup of tea, I think the world the author created is absolutely fantastic. It's crazy, but very well thought out, and I think the characters are very interesting. They are so wild and varied. Candy is a very solid protagonist.
Overall I love the imagination behind this story and I'm looking forward to reading more.
