challenging informative reflective slow-paced

A lot of good here in this book, but be warned that it really is a relic of its time - feels very 2015/2016. The author uses lots of very specific personal stories to illustrate concepts, except these stories often took me as the reader out of thinking about systems and getting hung up on my own personal stories. I think these moments detract from the overall message. I would love to know if and how the author’s perspective has shifted nearly a decade later, and I’d be interested to learn more about the topic (conflict is not abuse) from a Black feminist lens.
