This is another of those books that feels like terrific magazine article expanded to book length through lengthy stories and examples that don't actually improve the reader's understanding of the subject matter. 'Quiet' reads more like a cheerleading tract, a book-length affirmation of introverts' value, than a serious study.

While this book wasn't for me, however, it may have value for those who are new to the field, who may be wrapping their arms around their own preference for introversion, or for those who peg so far over to the extroversion side of the introvert/extrovert dichotomy that they see introverts as some kind of alien species.
