For the romance subplot being a significant part of the series, I was disappointed that the ending was so abrupt. The rest of the story wrapped up in an expected way based on the foreshadowing, but I had hoped for a little more payoff for all of the pages I just read! I will say that the Lia of the first book is a far cry from the Lia of book 3 (in a good way--she grew a lot as a character), and the author doesn't hesitate to kill characters you love (in a bad way--I wanted to cry).
