The Dark Tower
by Stephen King
now i’ve actually finished this whole series im way too emotionally invested to give a decent review. i STILL think the pregnancy storyline was unnecessary and could have been cut with some creative editing work (sorry jake!) but in all honestly this made me bawl like a baby. i love when a book gets in deep enough to do that so definitely kudos for the waterworks. the ending has left me feeling satisfied but not TOO satisfied which is crucial for me, i need to be left with something to chew over in my head for a book to really stay with me and i think this final instalment has done that.
definitely would recommend the dark tower series to anyone on the hunt for a weird, eclectic, authurian, western-style odyssey that includes a cute furry companion with the disclaimer that it’s gonna take you a while and may break your heart a little.
(unfortunately, now ive completed king’s keystone narrative, i feel like im duty bound to work my way through the rest of his work on an easter egg hunt. wish me luck with that.)
