So after getting an interview with the author (link below), I knew I had to re-open the book and start the series again.
The writing is good, the style of character customization is fantastic, and the idea of the open world and being able to take my time with the quests? perfect.
Though delving into the book I can see what Mike meant when he was fighting with his publishers about him wanting it to be more adult and dark and them wanting it to be a bit more childish, you can see that sometimes in the book, the back and forth between the two.
But knowing that he gets his way after this book? fantastic.
My nephew even loves the book which is mental as he doesn't like books at all.
