Glamour in Glass by Mary Robinette Kowal

2.0

I enjoyed the little ways Jane learned to break away from her traditional English sensibilities and unconscious mysogynistic attitude. I feel like this book was better in the sense that it no longer felt the need to stick to a Jane Austen type of story, but it also lost a bit of the support such a structure provided. Still, it was a fun adventure, carried by Jane's character and Vincent and Jane's developing relationship. It _is_ a bit funny to hear Vincent professing his undying love while remembering how little they actually had in the sense of significant interactions during the first book. An average Victorian fantasy romance with a slice of war intrigue. I enjoyed the extended details on the magic system more than anything else, tbh.
