The Reunion by K.A. Applegate
2.0
Told from Marco’s perspective, in this story we find out that Visser One is still alive and in hiding, as Visser Three has declared her a traitor to the Yeerk empire. The Animorphs make a deal with her under the guise of surrendering the free Hork Bajir colony, in the hopes that Vissers One and Three will engage in mutually assured destruction. Of course, both survive and the Animorphs live to fight another day.

This was such a nothing story. It was interesting to see Marco’s growth in deciding that he was ready to sacrifice his mother if need be, to save the rest of the planet. But it was an odd convoluted story; it felt like the Animorphs spent half of it in the mall, and the other half walking up a mountain, then the battle was thrown in haphazardly at the end. It’s reminiscent of the last Harry Potter book where they inexplicably spend 300 pages in a tent and nothing happens. You can totally skip it and won’t have any trouble catching up with the next book.
