Vengeance of the Pirate Queen
by Tricia Levenseller
If the third book was still focused on Alosa it would have been 3 stars even though I missed her because I need Draxen dead, ruins the vibe lol.
I do like book 3 once you are invested in characters/ side characters I feel like it’s hard not to be but 1. Draxen is still alive in book 3 and that just ruins everything, by book 3 it’s just ridiculous he’s still there causing trouble. 2. I don’t love Kearan he is okay and I like them together but I wish he was 19 and I’m not sure if anyone can beat Riden. Kearan wasn’t as deserving of Sorinda I don’t believe until over half way.
The story line of book 3 isn’t as good either in terms of Sorinda and her decision making, I feel like she done things which just didn’t make sense for how smart she seems but gave a story I guess. Sorinda was silly for waking a frozen man lol but the story was good aside from Kearans mixed signals, he clearly likes her isn’t honest about it but also moody just a bit weird but they obviously work!
I much preferred the first two books, this story line I felt it hard not to feel sorry for the native people on the icy island, they were told to guard the King of the undersea and they did. Why would they assume that humans would listen if they just communicated especially the land kings men, so it’s hard to not just feel like the pirates are in the wrong on this occasion even though I know they are just trying to save themselves, feel sorry for both parties, couldn’t fullyyyyy root for Sorinda the same way I couldn’t Alosa. If Sorinda didn’t help them in the end I really wouldn’t have liked this book as much.
Even though I have been quite negative in this review, I did like the characters a lotttttttttttt, had some actual laughs and overall really liked all the books, if Draxen had died probs could have all been 5 stars. Great ending to three great books.
