Oh my god this book was everything everyone was saying about it and more. It's so good!
I literally loved everything about this book. The characters were all different and dynamic and lovable with their own flaws and hopes and needs and how they all tied together at the end was impeccable writing honestly.
And speaking of writing, Saara's is literal perfection. Every little detail that is brought up, no matter how small, can and will be used in the plot and the big reveal and I love that so much. The foreshadowing went hard and the vibes of the characters were immaculate. There's definitely so much planning that needs to go into writing like that and I absolutely admire it. She has probably become one of my writing idols with just this book alone (and I already had a couple of others from her on my tbr).
And the plot twists were so good! There were some that I saw coming  but still others that were a complete surprise. And even the ones that I saw coming still had me with my jaw on the floor during the reveal.
I do think there should have been more setting descriptions though. I didn't realize they were in a rainforest like at all until the ending when I thought about it a little more. I thought they were in some kind of desert or something which didn't really make sense as to why the sun crystal was so important. I think if the setting was a little more fleshed out, it would have helped the reader understand the significance more.
It was so good. I honestly can't recommend this book enough and I can't wait to read the rest of the series (and more books from this author).
