Delirium by Lauren Oliver

5.0

I really loved this sweet dystopian romance tale of Alex and Lena! The writing is beautiful, the character arcs are consistent and really fleshed out and the constant pressure of the regime is realistic. This book reminded me so much of the YA dystopia I used to read as a teenager, when YA really meant the coming-of-age journey of a hero against an oppressive authority and when loving someone at that age was considered more pure and wholesome.

This is my second Lauren Oliver book and I confess I loved it just as much as "Before I Fall." I'm currently listening to the second audiobook and I decided to stick to the Audible production because the voice artist has done a REMARKABLE job in giving life to these artists.

This book uses many tropes and clichés but the whimsical writing and the purity of the heroine are what kept me glued to the page thus the 5 stars.
