The Fragile Threads of Power
by V.E. Schwab
Personally, I am enjoying this more than the original trilogy. To think of it as a “new” series is kind of misleading though. I think using the first book and an omnipotent evil antagonist plus a couple MC’s help set up the world building and beginning character dev. This new book/trilogy is really an extension of the story but seems to be a lot more into convoluted scheming/harder to nail down antagonistic drivers, mixes in quite a few new faces into the chess board of a plot, and hopefully we get some interesting character arcs. I very much am digging the new characters, and think they compliment the original ones well. Very interested to see how this ties together over the next two books!
