I’ll remember this book forever because it broke my heart a thousand times and I might’ve shed a tear or two…this book is a tender account of how domestic violence impacts families for generations, and provides hope that you don’t have to turn out like an abusive parent. This book may be triggering to people who hav experienced DV, but I do think that people who have NOT been DV victims need to read it to realize how convoluted and confusing a person’s relationship with their abuser can be. This book does a beautiful job of illustrating the argument of “but why doesn’t she/he/they just leave their abuser?” Because it’s not that easy!!!
