What an amazing, incredible book. A must read. Gripping, painful, and true. This book die a fantastic job of translating issues of race, class, power, disability, and put them in this really well-built world. Solomon created characters who all responded to the trauma they were facing in different ways, and I felt so connected to each of them. The Sci Fi aspects of this book were really strong - and I'm not much of a Sci Fi reader because the genre's got a few too many annoying men for my taste, and GOSH this book was great - it showed me what Sci Fi can be when written well. Solomon subverted all the right tropes, the ones that usually make you scream at the characters for making stupid decisions, and made all of their decisions so understandable and relatable, even when the characters made decisions that may act against them. Each character was so well built and written, and the writing of the autistic MC was really strong. I loved this book.
