My brain just gave up the moment I realised that I had gone through half of the book of an author who thinks that they're super intellectual and smart. All that investment in a singular character and their life story was not enough and connecting the thematic experiences and the heritage to the main protagonist is what I was supposed to carry out but I just could not with the pretentiousness of it all.
