So that ending was horrifying and so satisfying. This whole book was so brilliantly written and constructed. Every word and every page was an absolute treat to read. I have always loved the film adaptation but my lord, this book blew my mind. I found myself re-reading certain chapters just because they were so beautifully and uniquely written. Jean-Baptiste is easily one of my favorite characters I have ever read about and this book was glorious. One of the best books I have ever read and I cannot recommend it enough.
