I think I preferred the first book to this one. With book two, it felt as if the direction of the plot and the story was slightly lost.

Many things started happening which felt unnecessary; i.e. how many people will try to hurt or attack Shi?! Why was that semi-abandoned by the end? Also, we had some developments about Mr.X and his increasingly disturbing actions and that was sort of brushed aside to make room for the other sub-plots. It felt as if too many things were happening at once, new sub-plots and attacks introduced and not much being resolved.

The relationship with the guys was nice - there was progress in that department! More scenes between them all and the steam level was increased! ✨ Although some of the miscommunication issues I personally could do without 🤷🏻‍♀️ But that’s just me with this trope.

I am not sure how to feel about the ending (there is a twist) but it’s another cliffhanger! so we have to wait for the other book!
