Your Perfect Year by Charlotte Lucas

2.0

⚠️ Triger warning: this book deals with topics of terminal illness, suicide and loss of loved ones.
Now that the important stuff is out of the way, I have a bone to pick with the readers who mark this book as "feel good" or "holiday cheer read"... What is wrong with you?
A girl thinks her bf is about to propose, instead he tells her he's dying and soon proceeds to commit suicide. She goes on an extremely selfish desperation binge and later on finds love in the man that partially ruined her bf's dreams and in the meantime rediscovered himself by living his best life following a diary written for the dead guy? I mean...
On top of that, either the translator was overzealous with the thesaurus or the author themselves used tedious language at times...
Anyways, the idea of finding a random planner and having the privilege to follow its suggestions and turning your life for the better is cute, but the overall execution of the book was disappointing.
