The Good-Enough Life by Avram Alpert
4.0

I heard about this book via interview on NPR, which peaked my interest. I really enjoyed the themes explored in the first half of the book, which were more oriented towards the philosophical, moral and ethical implications of "greatness," and how those effects have rippled out into all parts of society. The second half felt a little tedious; if you've read any progressive economic texts or socialist ones, most of this will feel cursory. However for those new to these ideas, this books serves as a helpful introduction. In the end I think this could have been trimmed down a bit, as many of the same quotes and ideas are repeated, often, but still absolutely worth the read, and timely at that.
