It’s weird. Like the plot was kind of weak but parts of the verse totally made up for it. Like there were powerful messages that were brought up because of the weak plot points, but they were profound. The plot was bland and boring, and at one point kind of like... what the heck that’s kind of abrupt... like it didn’t flow well with the story. But the good stuff is all of her internal monologue. It was weird. And maybe that’s how it’s supposed to be. Overall I really liked the messages. Because the book is in verse I read it super fast and don’t feel like the characters really developed. But maybe that’s just me. Nic was a relatable character but not in a bad way. Overall, the themes and message of this book are what got to me.
