A perfect novel. Totally engrossing, read it pretty much in two sittings. Beautifully written and clever. Brilliant mystery, stacks of suspense, but also a gorgeous love story and very intelligent and interesting examination of women’s roles in the 19th century. Couldn’t fault it!
