White Horse Black Nights by Evie Marceau

This had a lot of potential. I liked the world, and the plot was interesting, as was Sabine’s magic. But ultimately everything fell flat. She can communicate with Animals, which is quite frankly a dream, and yet on a 21 day ride through wilderness, we barely saw her interact with anyone but her horse. The romance was so bad I skipped over the smut. I think my main problem is that I cannot stand Wolf, I hated his pov’s and didn’t like the way he spoke. The language was also a little too modern for a Romantasy that takes place in a world with no technology, it’s something that normally doesn’t bother me, but it did here. I finished because I wanted to see if the “cliffhanger” would make me want to continue the series, but it didn’t. It just made Sabine look fickle, and it was predictable. We have seen all of this before, in the hands of better writers. Unfortunately a miss, but I am glad I gave it a chance.
