A Matter of Time, Vol. 2 by Mary Calmes

4.0

It's been a while since I read the first volume of Matter of Time, so it took me a couple of chapters to get back into the world. But then I was hooked again. Jory is still such a shit, but you can't help but love him anyway. I would say that Sam has the patience of a saint to put up with him, but... he really doesn't. Yet somehow it works.

The second part of this volume is where it really works. Book 4 is a mess of a mystery going all the way back to the murder that first brought them together. The uniqueness of Jory really gets a chance to shine as tackles a stalker that he's not quite sure he even believes in, naturally. The whodunnit and Sam and Jory's antics kept me flipping pages until the final reveal. And damn, what an ending.
