I had higher hopes for the FMC. She initially came off as a strong and independent but she lacked depth as the story progresses and she is just stagnant. The relationship between her and Julian has potential but it all felt overtly pushy and forced to where it felt surface level. I enjoyed the overall concept of dragons and Rome. I didn’t see the point of the prophecy because it’s not actually seen in the story itself. Probably could have pushed to finish it but I decided not to.
