Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert

4.25

As an writer dreamer, I found this book inspiring: it included a lot of different ideas about how to view and approach your writing that I haven't heard before. For example, it presented that many ideas have been done before but none have been done by you (indicating that you have something special that only you can add to it, or even just that by you doing it, you'd put your own flair to it), as well as the idea that writing doesn't always need to come from strong negative emotions nor from the concept of passion - but rather from curiosity. I found a lot of these ideas resonated with me and hopefully will stick. I defs am looking forward to writing for the first time. I'd use this book as a writing textbook for my students, tbh.

My only warning is that the last ~30% don't hit as strongly as the first bits, but apart from that, I would defs recommend!
