Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs

4.0

I absolutely loved this book...for the most part. It was definitely one of the most unique and interesting books I have read in a long time. I finished it in a day because I was completely unable to put it down. The images added so beautifully to the overall feel of the book, helping to combine actual history with paranormal intrigue.

SpoilerThat said, I was a somewhat disappointed with the ending of the book. The way Jacob found out the truth about Miss Peregrine's home seemed rather anti-climactic. I was expecting another twist involving the monsters, something a bit more...real. Riggs did an amazing job weaving a story about magical children that seemed almost plausible, but the unrealistic evil of the story was a bit disappointing.

I hope that the sequel delves deeper into this section of the story and provides more twists and turns.
