The Principle of Desire by Delphine Dryden

4.0

3.5 stars

I'd been thinking that I'd like to see more femdom stories right before I started this, so I was delighted to see that the focus of this novella was on the development of the heroine, Beth, as she explored her Domme side. (Dryden is an auto-buy for me, so, no, I didn't know what this was about before I started reading.) I really enjoyed watching her interact with Ed, and watching them explore and play with their new-to-them roles. It's quite possibly because I had so much fun with those two that the addition of Aaron was unwelcome. Intellectually, it made sense to include him in the story, to provide a gauge to watch Beth's development as a person, as a girlfriend, as a switch/domme, but emotionally -- I wanted more time with Beth and Ed. Rounding this up to 4 stars because there's a good chance I'll like this more on the second read.
