Tom Sawyer - A Legend.

I started watching Huckleberry Finn and His Friends (1979) earlier this year and fell in love. I knew instantly that I must read the books. I find it pretty amazing how nostalgic this felt, it really embodied childhood even though it was written 1876.

Tom is such a mischievous troublemaker with a wild imagination to boot. The shenanigans he got up to alone and with his “gang” were so very amusing. Who else do you know that could (threaten to) lick a person with one hand behind their back? Or propose with a brass doorknob? Or run away to become a pirate? Or even get lost in a cave? Aunt Polly really went through it with that boy.
