Along for the Ride by Mimi Grace
4.0

Along for the Ride is a slow-burn contemporary romance between a sassy younger lady and her brother-in-laws straight laced best friend. It is an enjoyable second chance romance highlighting diversity, including characters of colour in lead roles and a LGBTQ couple as the heroine's best friends. Mimi Grace filled this book with sexual tension and heat as well as an undeniable chemistry between the main characters.

From it's blurb you expect Along for the Ride to only tell the story of a enemy to lovers road trip, however this is just the beginning portion of this novel. The book starts as a road trip between enemies, evolved into a friends with benefits tale and finished with a opposite attracts love story. Jolene and Jason are like magnets who both pushed and pulled on each other depending on the situation. The characters did not however delve into their feeling until the final part of the book and so unfortunately sometimes came across as lacking depth.

Along for the Ride was an engaging contemporary romance that I would recommend for readers who enjoy contemporary romance, slow-burn, enemy-to-lovers, romance with diversity, opposites attract and road trip romances.
