I’ve had this book on my shelf since 2021, and if there’s anything I want to accomplish in 2024, it’s tackling my physical TBR. Unfortunately, the wait did not make this book a better read for me, and I sped through it wishing for it to be over.

I think this book would be a mediocre introduction into reading fantasy, but the way the women characters were portrayed really put the book off for me. The women characters were already objectified by page 2, and were either portrayed as stupid or objectified as sexy and promiscuous. Another funny but relevant note: it was hard to take the main character seriously with a name like Bink.

There were also many plot hole points that made it not enjoyable, and I hit the climax of the story at the 60%, point, which rendered the rest of the tale useless. I can’t fully recommend it and I won’t be continuing the series. The reveals weren’t also that exciting, and I would love to read an updated version of this book if it exists (like, MAJOR updates needed imo).
