I was delighted by how much I enjoyed this book. Smith is able to balance transportive, poetic passages about relationships and life with gut-wrenchingly honest descriptions of poverty and inequality. I found myself feeling happy, sad, nostalgic, horrified, and many other emotions while listening to this book. The amazing narrator certainly helped, I absolutely loved listening to her Brooklyn accent.
