A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens

4.5

"It is a far, far better thing that I do, than I have ever done; it is a far, far better rest that I go to, than I have ever known"

That actually gave me chills. I had pretty much given up on Dickens until I picked up this book. Granted, it took ages to get through, and does get slow at times but when it does pick up – wow. The way events are described, the mob, the terror, the blood, it just completely sucked me in. Dickens somehow manages to write scenes with such impact, I was so impressed and in awe. The entire book is just overflowing with powerful characters and powerful scenes. I definitely see why this has become such a classic.
