Okay this was so good. Like no words. It was extremely well done and appropriately paced. Sometimes with mystery books the ending feels rushed or the rest of the book feels slow, but this was written so well. This is the second book I've read by the author, the first being Kingdom of The Wicked which I loved, so I had pretty high expectations, and they were met.
I'm not going to lie, the ending was kind of predictable, but that does not make this a bad book. I think about 3/4 of the way through it becomes pretty obvious who The Ripper is, but I still think the way the ending was written worked out really nicely, and the characters finding out who The Ripper was, was extremely well done (ik i need to find a synonym for extremely well done). I do have to say, the book very obviously trying to show that the main character is a feminist. Like, we get it, girls can be forensic scientists and wear dresses, but this got very repetitive. Again, this is not a bad thing it's really just an observation. The characters were overall really amazing I love them so much especially Thomas and Uncle Wadsworth. This was only Kerri Maniscalco's first novel, so my expectations for Hunting Prince Dracula are really high.
Anyway, 100% recommend especially if you are a YA fantasy reader trying to expand your library. It's been a while since I read historical fiction and this book made me remember why I used to love it so much.
