I feel like this book ticks off everything you would expect from a mafia arranged marriage and what you can glean from the book description. I did really love how Noemi’s muteness/voice was used in the story as a plot device. I did feel like this had a perfect mixture of action scenes related to mafia business as well as focus on the romance and interpersonal relationships.
There was a heavy emphasis on immediate obsession with each other. Beyond Noemi’s trauma around her father, they didn’t really have much to bond over.
The writing could have been a little more edited and polished. Conversations jumped around a little too much to feel realistic. I did love that there was plenty of angst captured through internal thoughts.
I could see myself continuing this series since the characters seemed really interesting.
