Just Fake Married
by Marty Vee
The story
Owen is a vet at the dog shelter and he’s running away from a volunteer and donor trying to set him up with his daughter. Emmaline’s client won’t deal with an unmarried sales lady. Both slip out (separately) that they are married, but the wheels come off the bus when they are spotted together at a party and it turns out the donor is Emmaline’s uncle and the assumption is that they are married to each other. Thrown together living in Owen’s house with his five special needs dogs, the two realise their true feelings for each other.
My thoughts
Marty Vee’s story is a delight to read. It reads at a great pace with natural dialogue and a realistic story. I would recommend this for readers who enjoy Emma St Clair and Jenny Proctor’s stories, with the proviso that this doesn’t hold back on the steamy scenes. Owen has a big heart and I love how his life has adapted to his pack of rescue dogs. He’s shy but very interested in Emmaline. The dual POV gives great insight into the two character’s perspectives. I love the ending to this story and the way that issues are resolved. It’s a goodie!
