I'm Glad My Mom Died by Jennette McCurdy
emotional

It’s rare to finish a memoir thinking, “I’m genuinely glad her mom is dead” and yet, here we are. What Jennette endured is horrifying, and a brutal reminder that a child is not an extension of their parent nor the vessel for their unfulfilled dreams .
Her honest, sharp voice made this an unforgettable read.

And as someone who’s struggled with an eating disorder after a major weight loss, those chapters hit painfully close to home. I’m proud of her for continuing the fight and I truly hope she’s happy now, finally doing what she wants.
