The Life I Left Behind
by Colette McBeth
I thought this book was okay; it was easy to read and the pace of the plot was pretty fast and although I did guess who the killer was before they were revealed, it was not soon enough to be embarrassing for the author. I think what nudged it down a little for me was that the vast majority of the characters were spectacularly unlikeable and that just put me on edge. I don’t mind so much if I know you’re supposed to find the characters unlikeable but I don’t enjoy it when they’re portrayed as good and I still hate them. I know that’s a bit weird and not the author’s fault but there you have it.
