Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers
5.0

Everything is so crazy right now and I really needed to reread one of my favorite comfort reads. When I was a teenager this was my second favorite romance (the first was Jane Eyre). I read it over and over again. I was a little afraid I wouldn't love this book as much this time around. It's been a little while since I've read it. While the beginning was a bit rocky, by chapter five I was fully invested and I still love it just as much.

I just learned it's being made into a movie and I'm a little nervous. Book to movie adaptions are very hit or miss, and I haven't heard of any of the actors they cast, except for Nina Dobrev. Also, the guy they casted to play Michael Hosea is totally the wrong fit. But I'm going to remain hopeful, especially since Francine Rivers was the one who wrote the movie script. Hopefully the acting will be good. Ugh. I don't know if I want this to happen.

This love story is so beautiful and emotional and full of empathy and compassion. The only thing I had trouble with was Paul, who aggravated me just as much as he did the first time I read this novel. I know he changes his ways in the end and it definitely made me happy, but for most of the book, he is the absolute worst. Other than that, no complaints. Still five stars.
