I was 🤏🏼thiiis close to DNFing this. I felt nothing for any of the main characters, the writing was lacking in my opinion (especially for the teenager) and the plot was so ridiculously convoluted. There were twists but they didn't hit because they were either not surprising or just seemed unnecessary. And the mystical element with the dreams also just seemed so unnecessary. I like that in the end the bad guys get theirs so that's the only redemption in my mind.
