The Girl in the Tower by Katherine Arden
4.0

It wasn't my favorite of the series, but it's always tricky to broaden a story's depth/ breadth. Ms. Arden tastefully expanded the plot from revolving around the struggles of one girl, and her family, to the welfare of all of Russia. The villain is one of my favorites I've read. It also has one of best quotes I've ever read: "Every time you take one path, you must live with the memory of the other: of a life left unchosen. Decide as seems best, one course or other other; each way will have its bitter with its sweet."
