Told in both dual narrative and dual timeline, the story follows both the story of Violet, the working girl, and Christian a Lady and how both of their lives intertwine. James Forrester is the man that brings them together, but will also change their lives forever.
This was an enthralling tale of Scotland in the 1600s, of how women were treated and how the justice system worked. This isn't my normal read, but I was captivated by the tale and flew through it over just a weekend.
