Summary: Percy Jackson but with an FMC ans very dark and F'd up premise. Lots of misogyny. Lots of gaslighting. There's child abuse. Suicidal thoughts. Trauma. PTSD. Lots of overall messedup sh*t. That being said.....I was hooked. Loved the audiobook narrators. I think they did a great job with the never ending inner monologue of the FMC. Idk what it was about this book but I started the audiobook and finished it in a day. I was hooked. I am very hopeful that book 2 the FMC will go on a revenge arc and she will f those entitled immortal pieces of ..... I don't get the feeling that this was written with the idea to like the characters or that the status quo. I'm thinking and hoping the following books will be about dismantling the status quo and shaking things up. Really, really hope it doesn't turn into a redemption arc for basically exploiters of a vulnerable just reached adulthood woman bc I don't want that. Either way I'll be picking up the next book October 2025 and hoping for the best.
